Two companies that operate primarily in Permian Basin are ranked among the top 10 private operators in the lower 48 states, according to a recent report from Enverus. Continental Resources (Rockies) was the No. 1 private operator in 2023 with 690,299 boed, Mewbourne Oil (Permian) was fourth with 408,754 boed, and Endeavor Energy (Permian) was fifth with 336,561 boed.
Other Permian operators in Enverus’ top 20 were CrownQuest Operating (12 with 157,668 boed), Birch Operations (16 with 113,340 boed) and GBK Corp. (20 with 108,571 boed). Also listed among the top 50 privates were Surge Operating (33), BTA Oil Producers (34), Tap Rock Resources (36), Blackbeard Operating (44) and Fasken Oil & Ranch (46). Fourteen other Permian were ranked in the top 100.
