U.S. exports of petroleum products grew 2 percent to nearly 6.0 million barrels per day in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration. EIA said Wednesday it’s the most U.S. petroleum product exports in the first half of any year in its records dating back to 1981.
Exports of propane and other hydrocarbon liquids drove the increase; exports of other major petroleum products such as motor gasoline, distillate fuel oil and jet fuel decreased compared with first half 2022.
And EIA said U.S. exports of crude oil also continued to increase in first half 2023 – rising to 4.0 million b/d or 19 percent higher than first half 2022.
