Four projects, including an expansion at Port Arthur LNG in Jefferson County by Sempra Infrastructure, received authorization Sept. 21 from U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Sempra may proceed with expansion of 13.5 million metric tons per year for Phase 2 for liquefaction trains 3 and 4 to double the plant’s capacity. FERC also approved Texas Eastern’s Venice extension transmission pipeline by Enbridge.
Port Arthur trains 1 (to be completed in 2027) and 2 (2028) currently are under construction. Phase 2 also will include additional LNG storage and marine berth.
