Calgary-based Enbridge recently said it is continuing with plans to expand Gray Oak pipeline by 200,000 barrels per day from Permian Basin to the Gulf Coast. Enbridge CEO Greg Ebel said Nov. 3 on the company’s third quarter earnings call that an open season for the expansion is scheduled to start by the end of this year. Enbridge will move production from Permian Basin to its Ingleside Energy Center near Corpus Christi, reportedly the largest light crude export facility by volume in the U.S. Gray Oak pipeline transports crude oil 840 miles with current capacity of 900,000 b/d.
East Daley Analytics reported, “If expanded, Gray Oak would play a key role in attracting incremental Permian supply into Corpus Christi as well as offering connectivity to potential new offshore Houston export facilities… Enbridge’s focus on the Permian and Gulf Coast continues to be a theme.”
