BPX Energy, which manages BP’s oil and gas operations in lower 48, said recently it will bring online in midyear 2025 another central processing facility in Permian Basin. Murray Auchincloss, CEO, said it will be the fourth and final processing facility for BPX in Permian Basin.
Formed in 2015, BPX recently brought online its second and third central processing facilities, Bingo and Checkmate. The first, Grand Slam, can process about 30,000 b/d.
London-based BP has about 80,000 employees, including 30,000 in U.S., in 70 counties. BPX operates in Delaware Basin, Eagle Ford and Haynesville. It operated 11 rigs in first quarter – 5 in Permian Basin, 4 in Eagle Ford and 2 in Haynesville. First quarter production was 424,000 boed. BPX said after all four processing facilities are online, its black oil processing capacity will exceed 100,000 barrels per day.
