U.S. Energy Information Administration forecast in its latest drilling productivity report that crude oil production will increase by 18,000 barrels per day this month in Permian Basin. Permian production is expected to grow from 6.169 million b/d in May to 6.187 million b/d in June. In the seven major regions, production is forecast to grow by 17,000 b/d from 9.836 million b/d in May to 9.853 million b/d in June. Only Eagle Ford and Anadarko among the other six regions are forecast to increase oil production in June.
Production of natural gas in seven regions is forecast to decline from May to June by 330 million cubic feet per day to 99.195 billion cfd. Permian gas production is forecast to grow by 143 million cfd in June to 25.250 billion cfd. Appalachia remains the gas production leader despite a decline of 176 million from May to 35.791 billion in June.
EIA also said May 13 that the number of DUC wells (drilled but uncompleted) increased by 6 from 4,504 in March to 4,510 in April. That includes an increase of 2 in Permian from 891 in March to 893 in April. Five of the seven regions added DUC wells in April.
