TETRA, EOG to use Oasis TDS to process produced water in west Texas

The Woodlands-based TETRA Technologies recently announced a pilot project with EOG Resources to use TETRA’s Oasis total desalination solution (TDS) to process produced water in Permian Basin.  After TETRA and Houston-based EOG successfully treated produced water in south Texas, the new Permian Basin project will start in first half 2025, including a rangeland grass growth study in a greenhouse using produced water from Oasis TDS.

Oasis TDS, a proprietary process, is a water treatment and desalination solution for reuse and mineral extraction applications for produced water from crude oil and natural gas wells.  TETRA said March 27 it “has successfully demonstrated in the field the ability to deliver a water quality that achieves or exceeds relevant regulatory requirements in a cost-effective manner for multiple reuse applications, including surface irrigation and industrial uses.”
