Viper Energy to increase oil production in fourth quarter in west Texas

November 11, 2025 by PBOG Leave a Comment

Midland’s Viper Energy expects fourth quarter oil production of 65,000 to 67,000 barrels per day – an increase of about 20 percent in oil production per share compared to 2024Q4.  Total production is forecast at 124,000 to 128,000 boed.  Viper said production in Q3 was 56,087 b/d of oil (108,859 boed).

Kaes Van’t Hof, CEO, said Nov. 3, “Looking ahead to 2026, we continue to anticipate mid-single digit organic oil production growth from 2025Q4 estimated production, which implies double digit year over year growth in oil production per share relative to 2025.”  Viper Energy said as of Sept. 30, 2025, its footprint of mineral and royalty interests was about 95,846 net royalty acres primarily in Permian Basin of west Texas.

In 3Q Viper turned to production 739 total gross horizontal wells on its acreage with average lateral length of 10,947 feet (124 wells operated by parent company Diamondback, 615 operated by third parties).
