Scott Sheffield, former chairman, CEO and founder of Pioneer Natural Resources, received the inaugural TIPRO Energy Icon Award at the 80th annual convention of Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association today in Houston. TIPRO said, “His role in the shale revolution didn’t just boost an industry. It helped to secure American energy independence.”
Sheffield’s career of almost five decades includes “founding Pioneer and growing it into the largest producer in Texas, helping unlock the full potential of the Permian Basin, and playing a key role in the shale revolution.”
Speakers at the convention March 30-31 included Sheffield, Governor Greg Abbott, Senator Ted Cruz and Danny Wesson, executive vice president and COO of Midland’s Diamondback Energy.
