Houston-based Phillips 66 said last week it will proceed with the addition of Zeus gas processing plant and Midland Express pipeline in west Texas and another Coastal Bend fractionator in south Texas to advance its integrated wellhead-to-market strategy. Zeus will be a processing facility in Permian Basin with capacity of 300 million cfd. Midland Express pipeline of 45 miles will integrate the company’s Permian Basin gathering system by moving up to 230 million cfd of Permian-sourced wellhead gas and provide future bi-directional flexibility between multiple processing facilities.
Don Baldridge, executive vice president, said May 18, “Zeus gas plant and a third Coastal Bend fractionator will strengthen our ability to move growing Permian volumes across an integrated value chain from the wellhead to key market centers.”
The projects – scheduled for startup in 2028 – are included in Phillips 66’s capital spending budget of $2.0 billion to $2.5 billion this year. With Permian production expected to grow over the next five years, Zeus and the new fractionator will help connect advantaged supply to downstream assets and premium markets.
