In its third quarter operations report, Spring-based ExxonMobil last week reported increased production in Permian Basin, Guyana and Golden Pass LNG near Sabine Pass, Texas. Those gains were offset by disruptions in output in Middle East. ExxonMobil said production in 3Q was 4,496,000 boed compared to 4,514,000 boed in 2Q. Darren Woods, chairman and CEO, said Oct. 30, “We’re increasing production while improving efficiency – the result of years of consistent and disciplined investment and execution excellence.”
ExxonMobil said technology is transforming operations in Permian Basin. The 3Q report continued, “We are leveraging technology to make our drilling operations safer, more efficient and more consistent… Deployment of automated drilling rigs across ExxonMobil’s Permian operations represents a significant advancement in safe and efficient operations. We’ve contracted industry-leading drilling operators to help modernize our drilling fleet with advanced robotic systems that can perform some of the industry’s most physically demanding and higher-risk tasks.”
ExxonMobil plans to increase Permian production to about 2.5 million boed by 2030.
