The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is creating a division to manage the growing number of applications to site, build and operate LNG export terminals. Neil Chatterjee, FERC chairman, said the new FERC office will include 20 existing LNG staff members in Washington, D.C., and 8 additional staff members in Houston, where there will be a new regional office.
Charlie Riedl of Natural Gas Supply Association said, “FERC’s plan to open a Houston office is a welcome step that reflects the growing nature of the U.S. LNG industry.”
