Global commodities trader Trafigura recently commenced shipments of crude oil from Permian Basin to Corpus Christi and Ingleside via the newly operational Cactus II pipeline. Trafigura Trading signed a longterm agreement last year with Plains All American Pipeline to transport 300,000 barrels a day on Cactus II, which has a capacity of 670,000 b/d. Deliveries connect to waterborne export services to Europe and other markets.
Kevin Jebbitt, head of crude trading for Trafigura, said Aug. 12, “Trafigura is at the forefront of connecting the American barrel to the global market. Thanks to our worldwide network, we can demonstrate to U.S. producers a unique ability to place barrels with end customers around the world… WTI is fast becoming a global benchmark again.”
