Canadian pipeline operator Enbridge withdrew its permit application at U.S. Department of Transportation maritime administration for a crude oil export terminal near Freeport in the Gulf of Mexico capable of handling supertankers, according to Reuters and Houston Chronicle. Enbridge reportedly could reconsider filing its application for Texas Crude Offshore Loading Terminal (or Texas COLT) off the coast of Brazoria County southwest of Houston. Last month Enbridge said it would jointly develop a deepwater facility with Enterprise Products Partners (Sea Port Oil Terminal or SPOT).
