Midland-based Endeavor Energy Resources filed its first drilling permits last week since June 29 with Railroad Commission of Texas. Houston Chronicle said Endeavor filed 11 permits for horizontal wells on two leases in Midland County targeting Spraberry to depths of 10,290 to 11,000 feet. Endeavor, which ranked fifth in Texas last year for permits, had scaled back drilling during the pandemic.
For the week of July 15-21, according to Chronicle, Endeavor’s 11 permits ranked behind only the 15 permits of Pioneer Natural Resources. Other leaders were 8 permits by Parsley Energy and 5 by Midland’s Diamondback Energy. Pioneer’s 15 permits were filed for wells in Martin and Midland counties targeting Spraberry.
