U.S. Energy Information Administration said this week in the first 6.5 months of 2020 about 5 billion cubic feet per day of additional natural gas pipeline capacity entered service in U.S. Projects primarily connect additional natural gas supplies to existing infrastructure; they include three projects totaling more than 1 billion cfd connecting to Waha hub near Permian Basin production areas.
They are northern Delaware Basin expansion completed in February, 14-mile expansion of El Paso natural gas transmission system; Sendero Carlsbad Gateway project, 23-mile new pipeline completed in May connecting processing plants in southeastern New Mexico to Waha; and South Mainline expansion project, another expansion of El Paso system that entered service in July delivering supplies to Arizona and southern California.
