Houston-based Summit Midstream Partners said it received approval of its application to construct and operate joint venture Double E pipeline Oct. 15 from U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Double E is a 135-mile interstate natural gas pipeline under development to provide 1.35-bcfd of transportation service from Delaware Basin in southeast New Mexico and west Texas to delivery points near Waha in Pecos and Reeves counties. Summit Midstream owns 70 percent interest and will operate Double E, which expects to receive FERC notice to proceed with construction within 90 days after fulfilling final requirements. ExxonMobil Permian Double E Pipeline owns 30 percent.
Heath Deneke, Summit president, CEO and chairman, said FERC approval was “an important milestone in the development of Double E pipeline project.” Summit Midstream provides natural gas, crude oil and produced water gathering, processing and transportation services in six basins, including Bone Spring and Wolfcamp formations in Permian.
