Three new members will be added to the Petroleum Hall of Fame April 29 at Bush Convention Center in Midland. They are Frank M. Late, a native of Arkansas and automobile dealer who launched his oil and gas career in 1944 with the beginning of Cactus Drilling; Paul L. Morris, a native of West Virginia who arrived in Midland in 1981 as president and CEO of Banner Energy; and Fred M. Newman, a native of Louisiana who moved to Midland in 1974 with Schlumberger and later formed Aztec Drilling and successfully patented more than 80 petroleum industry innovations to improve safety and efficiency. Late died in 2002.
