Port of Corpus Christi is having another record-breaking year. Port officials told Corpus Christi Caller Times Monday that the Port ended June with a record quarter and a record first half of the year – moving 80.5 tons of cargo in the first six months (4.7 percent increase over same period last year). They credited the increase to 72 percent increase in LNG exports, 42 percent increase in agriculture commodities and 3.6 percent increase in crude oil exports. “We are seeing strong demand for energy-related products originating from Texas,” CEO Sean Strawbridge said. “Our customers play a vital role in both feeding and fueling the world, and we are proud of their accomplishments in producing and moving these essential goods to high-demand centers.” Crude oil exports averaged 1.58 million barrels per day during first half of 2021, slightly above the 2020 full-year rate.
