Houston-based Pinnacle Midstream II said July 21 it started Phase II of its Dos Picos system, including construction of a natural gas processing facility in Midland County with capacity of 200 million cubic feet per day. Commercial operation is expected to begin in 2022Q2. The Dos Picos plant will complement Pinnacle’s existing high-pressure, large-diameter gathering and compression facilities that began operations in 2021Q1. Phase I included construction of 50 miles of 16-inch low- and high-pressure gas gathering lines and compression anchored by 15-year acreage dedication by DoublePoint Energy.
J. Greg Sargent, CEO, said, “This is an exciting milestone in the growth of Pinnacle’s infrastructure platform and will enable the company to extend its natural gas services franchise across one of the most active oil and gas producing regions in North America.” He said Dos Picos will enable customers in Glasscock, Martin and Midland counties to “benefit from an improving commodities environment while continuing to maximize recoveries and limit flaring across the basin.”
