Commissioner Wayne Christian last month was elected chairman of the Railroad Commission of Texas to succeed Midland’s Christi Craddick. “It is my privilege to serve as chairman at a point when our nation’s energy security is under threat by those in the media, the education system and, most of all, the federal government,” Christian said Sept. 28 after being elected to his second term as chairman. He said, “Texas – not Washington – and the private sector – not government – know best how to meet our energy needs. And that’s a fight that I will never quit.”
Craddick added, “I am honored to pass the chairmanship along to him and am confident that his expertise and work ethic will successfully guide this agency through the important issues that lie ahead.” Christian is a former seven-term member of the Texas House of Representatives from Center in Shelby County who was elected to the commission in November 2016.
