Austin-based Whistler Pipeline said Jan. 26 it will expand its Midland Basin pipeline with a new 36-inch lateral extending northwest into Martin County. The new Whistler lateral will lengthen the existing 36-inch lateral about 35 miles and connect to multiple processing sites by 2022Q4. Whistler, owned by a consortium of MPLX, WhiteWater, and a joint venture of Stonepeak and West Texas Gas, is about 450 miles long and transports natural gas from Waha in Permian Basin to Agua Dulce on the Gulf Coast, providing direct access to south Texas and export markets. An 85-mile lateral provides connectivity to Midland Basin. Whistler began commercial service July 1 with capacity of up to 2 Bcfd.
