Oil production in seven major regions in U.S. is expected to grow by 109,000 b/d in March to 8.707 million b/d, according to the latest drilling productivity report from U.S. Energy Information Administration. The forecast Feb. 14 includes continued growth of 71,000 b/d in Permian Basin to 5.205 million b/d and growth of 24,000 b/d in Eagle Ford to 1.146 million b/d.
Gas production for March is forecast to increase by 499 million cfd to 91.686 billion cfd. That includes increases of 124 million cfd in Permian to 20.357 billion cfd, 174 million cfd to 14.465 billion cfd in Haynesville, and 114 million cfd to 35.830 billion cfd in Appalachia.
The count of drilled but uncompleted wells (DUC) continued to decline, including 1,355 DUC wells in Permian in January after 1,444 in December. Across the seven regions, there were 4,657 DUC wells in December and 4,466 in January.
