Two laterals completed in December 2021 by ConocoPhillips in Upton County delivered a cumulative average of 170,821 boe (1,898 boed) per well in their first three months – Conoco’s highest in Upton County. The two wells averaged 15,596 feet. During a 24-hour test the wells delivered an average of 3,631 boed (85 percent oil). Enverus said Conoco has completed 26 operated laterals greater than 15,000 feet in Permian Basin, including 17 in 2021 and 9 so far in 2022. The 2021 wells included 12 in Upton County, 3 in Eddy and 1 each in Andrews and Midland.
Tim Leach, executive vice president-lower 48, told reporters that Conoco recently completed 3- and 3.5-mile laterals in southern Delaware Basin that were drilled in record time with “encouraging early results.”
