Oilfield services companies operating in Texas added 2,142 jobs in June for a total of 308,553, according to an analysis of federal preliminary data from Energy Workforce and Technology Council. Houston Chronicle said the industry in Texas added jobs for the eighth straight month. Across the nation about 5,000 jobs were added in the industry in June for a total of 633,198. “It’s encouraging to see job growth continue to increase in the sector,” Leslie Beyer, CEO of the council, said. “Our industry is up to the challenge to meet growing global demand.”
