Doug Ackerman, CEO of the Dairy Alliance that promotes the nation’s dairy industry, has been named president and CEO of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association. NMOGA said March 1 that Ackerman will assume his new role immediately to replace interim president and CEO Leland Gould, who began serving in March 2021 after the resignation of Ryan Flynn. “I look forward to building on the NMOGA team’s great progress and working with leaders and stakeholders across the state to continue New Mexico’s energy leadership through safe, responsible growth of the oil and natural gas sector.” He is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and University of Tampa.
Jeff Wilson, chairman of the NMOGA board, said Ackerman “has extensive experience growing and working with major consumer brands such as Publix Super Markets, Pizza Hut, Minute Maid and Anheuser Busch… We are confident that Doug’s extensive leadership and market-focused strategy experience is what our organization needs in this time of constant change in the oil and gas industry.”
NMOGA is a coalition of more than 1,000 oil and natural gas companies and individuals operating in the state. The industry supports more than 134,000 jobs with $27 billion in annual economic activity.
