Archrock Inc., which markets itself as the leading provider of midstream natural gas contract compression services in the United States, on June 7 donated a compressor package worth approximately $200,000 to Midland College. This donation included a contained portable gas lift compression system, equipped with updated Centurion and EICS controls.
Headquartered in Houston, Archrock operates in every major oil and gas producing region in the United States, including the Permian Basin. The donation represents the company’s commitment to support education and career development in the West Texas region.
“We are extremely grateful to Archrock for this very generous donation,” said Pete Avalos, MC program chair of Automotive, Diesel and Energy. “Students in our Diesel Technology and Energy Technology programs will be able to receive hands-on training using this gas compression system, which will be a valuable tool in helping them experience ‘real-world,’ simulated skills.”
MC’s Diesel Technology and Energy Technology programs prepare students for careers that benefit industries within the Permian Basin. MC offers students the chance to obtain associate degrees and industry certifications in both programs.
