Also, Permian Basin has 226 rigs (227 a week ago, 246 a year ago), Texas has 211 rigs (214 a week ago, 231 a year ago), and U.S. has 438 rigs (439 a week ago, 465 a year ago).
Lea County, N.M., leads the Permian Basin with 42 rigs (unchanged last week) followed by Eddy County, N.M., with 29 (up 1 last week), Midland with 25 rigs (unchanged), Reeves with 21 rigs (up 1 last week), Howard and Martin with 20 rigs each, Loving with 15 rigs, and Upton with 12 rigs.
Third in rig count among states is Louisiana with 47 (unchanged) followed by Oklahoma with 21 and Pennsylvania with 18. Second among regions is Haynesville with 45 rigs (unchanged) followed by Eagle Ford with 33 (unchanged), Marcellus with 29, and Williston with 15.
