Houston-based Battalion Oil Corp., independent energy company focused on acquisition, exploration, development and production in Delaware Basin, said March 7 it started its 2022 capital program in December with a three-well pad at Monument Draw in Pecos County. Battalion expects to operate one rig through 2022 and maintain flat production while “driving double-digit growth in daily oil production by yearend.”
Battalion plans to spud 12 wells in 2022 with total capital expenditures of $130 million to $150 million (90 percent for drilling and completions). Many of those wells will be turned to production in second half of 2022. Richard Little, CEO, said, “As a result of this wind up in activity, we expect annualized production to remain relatively flat over 2021. However, we should exit the year having delivered meaningful production growth over our yearend 2021 exit rate… Our well performance competes with some of the best wells in the basin.”
Production in 2021Q4 was 17,283 boed, and for full year 2021 it was 16,241 boed.
Lawrence Rayburn says
Monument Draw is in Lea County, New Mexico not Pecos County, Tx.
Pecos, Texas is where the Delaware Basin divides into Northern and Southern divisions. I live 20
miles south of Pecos in the Southern Delaware Basin where there is lots of drilling activity now.
