BP said last week it will sell its 10 wind energy onshore assets across seven U.S. states. William Lin, BP executive vice president for gas and low carbon energy, told NBC News, “We believe the business is likely to be of greater value for another owner.” BP Wind Energy assets have total net generating capacity of 1.3 gigawatts, but reportedly they are not aligned with BP’s plans for growth in newly acquired Lighthouse BP, Europe’s largest solar energy developer.
BP Wind Energy said Sept. 16 it will integrate its onshore renewable power development into Lighthouse BP.
