The prime mover behind Midland Energy, S. Javaid Anwar, was feted by a full house as the PBPA bestowed its highest lifetime honor, the Top Hand Award, on this deserving recipient.
MIDLAND, TEXAS—This year’s year’s Top Hand Award Banquet honoring S. Javaid Anwar of Midland Energy Inc. fetched hundreds of PBPA members and other individuals representative of Basin energy interests to the Midland Petroleum Club on Jan. 17 to celebrate the career of an extraordinary man.
The crowd was treated to glowing comments about the honoree from Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, and the surprise of the evening may have been the moment when former President George W. Bush appeared on screen to provide his own prerecorded congratulations to Mr. Anwar, concerning his honoring as PBPA Top Hand.
