Houston-based Cheniere Energy completed its Corpus Christi liquefaction stage 3 project Aug. 28 after taking custody and control of the seventh and last liquefied natural gas train in the project. CCL stage 3 is part of the Corpus Christi LNG terminal in San Patricio County. The additional capacity expands the total nominal capacity of the facility to 3.1 billion cubic feet per day and 3.9 billion cfd peak capacity.
According to U.S. Energy Information Administration, with this addition the Corpus Christi terminal became the second largest facility in the U.S. behind only Sabine Pass in Louisiana with nominal capacity of 3.6 Bcfd and peak capacity of 4.6 Bcfd.
