In its rig count update this week, Enverus said the number of frac crews in Permian Basin has increased slightly since a year ago. As of March 7, Enverus said there were 106 frac crews in Permian Basin (of 182 across the U.S.) compared to 102 a year ago. Also as of March 7, there were 30 frac crews in Gulf Coast (37 year ago) and 28 in Rockies (15 year ago).
Permian continues to lead in DUC wells (drilled but uncompleted) with 2,069 as of March 7 compared to 2,543 a year ago. Across the U.S., there were 4,122 DUC wells compared to 5,326 a year ago.
ExxonMobil continues to lead drillers in Permian Basin and U.S. In Permian as of March 21, the latest weekly average for ExxonMobil was 35.0 rigs followed by Occidental at 24.7, EOG Resources at 16.0, Mewbourne Oil with 15.3, ConocoPhillips with 14.7, Diamondback Energy with 14.3, Permian Resources with 13.0, Devon Energy with 12.9 and Coterra Energy with 12.0.
Helmerich & Payne remains the leading contractor in U.S. with a weekly average of 151.4 rigs followed by Patterson with 99.9 and Nabors with 61.1.
