Christi Craddick, 52, Midland native who was first elected to the commission in November 2012, Tuesday was selected to serve again as chair of the Railroad Commission of Texas succeeding Wayne Christian. A graduate of Midland High School, she has bachelor’s and J.D. degrees from University of Texas. As an attorney, she specializes in oil and gas, water, tax issues, electric deregulation and environmental policy. Craddick said her priorities as the next session of the Texas legislature begins Jan. 10, 2023, include securing the agency’s budget for the next biennium, preventing federal overreach in the state’s oil and gas industry, and continuing to ensure safety of citizens through regulation of natural resources.
