Delta Sands to construct sand processing plant in western Haynesville

November 7, 2025 by Sarrah Barton Leave a Comment

Delta Sands said last week it will construct a new wet sand processing facility near Buffalo in Leon County in east Texas in western Haynesville Shale.  The project is designed to “meet the increasing demand for high-quality, in-basin proppant as natural gas development and infrastructure expansion accelerate across east Texas.”  Delta Sands said capacity will be three million tons per year when operations begin in April 2026.

Bill Bowdon, CEO, said Oct. 31, “Our mission is to deliver a dependable, high-quality proppant supply directly from the center of the play.”  The company added, “Delta Sands will provide reliable, high-volume, regionally sourced sand to operators throughout the western Haynesville, helping to reduce transportation distance and lower completion costs.”

The facility currently is in the design and permitting phase.  Delta Sands was founded by officials from Performance Proppants, the largest regional sand producer in Haynesville.
