Denver-based Discovery Natural Resources applied to Railroad Commission of Texas to drill 10 horizontal wells in Reagan County targeting Spraberry field to a total depth of 8,500 feet. Houston Chronicle said the drilling project is in the company’s Bullhead lease about 10 miles northeast of Big Lake. Discovery produced 3.8 million barrels of oil and 27.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas in 2018 – 90 percent of the oil and 81 percent of the natural gas from Discovery.
The Chronicle also said Fort Worth-based Boykin Energy has applied to drill 10 injection wells on its Boatfield SWD lease in Reeves County near Orla. The vertical wells target the Olds field of Delaware to a depth of 6,000 feet.
