Birmingham, Ala.-based Diversified Energy named Rick Gideon, CEO of Maverick Natural Resources, as COO after closing its previously announced acquisition of Maverick. Diversified announced its purchase in January for $1.275 billion (including debt) of Maverick with core assets in Permian Basin, western Anadarko and Ark-La-Tex. Gideon’s appointment was effective Tuesday.
Diversified is a leading publicly traded energy company focused on natural gas and liquids production, transport, marketing and well retirement. The company said, “We acquire existing, long-life assets and invest in them to improve environmental and operational performance until retiring those assets in a safe and environmentally secure manner.”
