EAT IT

October 2, 2018 by PBOG

Since the Midland Beer Garden opened in 2014, it has been well known as one of the best places for craft beer in the area, if not the best.

With over 70 taps of delicious brews to choose from, it’s no wonder it won the MRT Reader’s Choice Awards three years in a row. Located in a nursery right off of Highway 80 in Midland, it’s a rare oasis. They even have live bands. The Beer Garden kitchen is not easily missed when you enter the location. It’s housed in a large white shipping container just to your left as you walk in. I ordered the Spicy Black Bean Wrap, and my husband had the Beer Garden Burger. We also ordered the Original Famous Poppers to share. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasty. My wrap was a combination of black beans, corn, red onions, chipotle aioli, and avocado spread, all in a toasted spinach tortilla. Available proteins to add included brisket, pulled pork, chicken, or shrimp. I chose the pulled pork. Everything was seasoned well, and there was a nice kick on the end note of each bite from the chipotle aioli. My husband’s Beer Garden Burger got a thumbs up. The poppers were amazing. We chose beers from Eccentric Brewing Company, Midland’s very first brewery, which debuted here on July 20. I had the Eccentric #1, a bold Belgium Amber. My husband chose Eccentric’s Typical IPA. Both were delicious. We recommend this place to anyone who loves great beer and great food. f you have kids or a furry friend that likes to tag along, you can take them too. Kids are welcome until 9 p.m. and dogs are always welcome.
