Eat IT

September 4, 2018 by PBOG

I first heard about Taco Divino from, well, everyone. From the moment it opened I heard rave reviews, so as soon as I was able, I went in. The venue is quaint, tucked away between a car wash and a car detailing shop off Big Spring St. in Midland, Texas. You might miss it if you don’t know what you’re looking for. However, once you find it, it’s likely to become an addiction, as the tacos definitely live up to their name. They are indeed divine. There are seafood tacos, with options ranging from crab to spicy shrimp and ahi tuna. There are chicken tacos, pork tacos, beef tacos, and veggie tacos. I chose the Tejas (beef) taco, along with the roasted corn. Then I saw the frozen wine machine, and, of course, I added one of those as well. My husband, who was with me, chose a Tejas and a Spicy Shrimp taco with a roasted corn and a beer, an IPA. We didn’t go with the suggested wine options for our tacos, but they were available. The tacos were delicious. The Tejas taco was a combination of adobo and Shiner braised beef with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, cilantro crème fraiche, and crispy fried onions. It was light and fresh but very satisfying. I couldn’t tell you how my husband’s shrimp taco was because he’d eaten it before I had a chance to ask for a bite. Perhaps that tells you all you need to know. Taco Divino: great food and a great time. —Shanti Terry
