Oil production in Permian Basin is forecast to reach a record 5.208 million barrels per day in April by U.S. Energy Information Administration. EIA said in its drilling productivity report March 14 that Permian Basin will produce an additional 70,000 b/d in April after 5.138 million b/d in March. U.S. production for seven major regions is expected to grow by 117,000 b/d in April to 8.708 million b/d. Eagle Ford will grow by 23,000 b/d to 1.146 million b/d.
Natural gas production also is expected to reach a record 92.326 billion cfd in April after 91.732 billion cfd in March. Appalachia remains gas production leader after growing by 186 million cfd in April to 36.484 billion cfd in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. Permian is expected to add 120 million cfd in April to reach 20.280 billion cfd, and Haynesville is forecast to reach 14.598 million cfd.
The count of drilled but uncompleted (DUC) wells fell to 4,372 in the seven regions in February – lowest since at least December 2013. Permian is the DUC leader with 1,396 in February – down 86 from 1,482 in January. Count of DUC wells fell for the 20th straight month.
