Austin-based WhiteWater said Monday that its Matterhorn joint venture with ONEOK, MPLX and Enbridge will build the Eiger Express pipeline after securing sufficient transportation agreements with contracts of at least 10 years. Eiger Express will transport up to 2.5 billion cfd of natural gas through 450 miles of 42-inch pipeline from Permian Basin to a hub near Katy on the Texas Gulf Coast.
Supply for Eiger Express will be sourced from multiple connections in the Permian Basin, including gas processing facilities in Midland Basin and from Delaware Basin via Agua Blanca pipeline, which is a JV of WhiteWater, Enbridge and MPLX.
Eiger Express is owned 70 percent by the Matterhorn JV and 15 percent each by ONEOK and MPLX. Eiger Express will be constructed and operated by WhiteWater. It’s expected to begin operating in mid 2028.
