Italian renewable energy company Enel Green Power said May 5 it plans to build five new solar and wind projects in the U.S., including a wind farm in Callahan and Eastland counties near Abilene. It is expected to generate 263 megawatts with 87 megawatts of storage capacity through a battery system. The other four projects are solar farms in Falls County near Waco and Grimes County near Houston and wind farms in Oklahoma and Illinois.
Georgios Papadimitriou, head of Enel in U.S., said, “Texas has been and we think it will definitely continue to be one of the most business-friendly states.”
