Houston-based Enterprise Products Partners said last week it increased its interests in certain midstream assets in Texas through deals with Western Midstream Partners. In the Permian Basin, Enterprise consolidated ownership by acquiring interests in Whitehorn Pipeline and Enterprise EF78 from affiliates of Western Midstream in a series of debt-free transactions for $375 million cash.
Enterprise completed the acquisition of 20 percent interest in Whitehorn from Western, which owns Midland-to-Sealy portion (620,000 b/d) of the Midland-to-ECHO 1 crude oil pipeline. Enterprise now owns 100 percent of Whitehorn.
The company also completed the acquisition of 25 percent interest in EF78 from Western, which owns NGL fractionators 7 and 8 in Mont Belvieu. These fractionators have a combined capacity of 170,000 b/d. Enterprise now owns 100 percent of EF78.
A.J. (Jim) Teague, co-CEO, said Feb. 21, “The pipeline asset serves the prolific Permian Basin, and the fractionation assets are integral to our NGL system.”
