San Antonio-based EPIC Crude Holdings said this week interim crude service on the 24-inch EPIC Y-grade pipeline has started – making its first delivery of Permian Basin crude from Crane to multiple terminals and refiners in Corpus Christi and Ingleside. EPIC said Monday during interim service it can deliver up to 400,000 barrels of oil a day. EPIC is temporarily using its NGL pipeline to ship crude oil during increasing production in the Permian Basin while it constructs a crude oil pipeline from west Texas to Corpus Christi.
EPIC said the mainline is expected to be completed in January 2020 with initial capacity of 600,000 b/d. Upon startup of the crude oil pipeline, EPIC will transition the Y-grade pipeline back to NGL service in 2020Q1.
