Enverus reported Wednesday that ExxonMobil remains the top operator of oil and gas drilling rigs in U.S. and Permian Basin. Among U.S. operators as of April 10, ExxonMobil reported an average of 37.0 rigs for an increase of 5 percent from 35.3 a year ago. The next seven U.S. operators on the list reported declining rigs counts in the past year. They are ConocoPhillips at 26.7, Occidental Petroleum at 25.0, EOG Resources at 23.7, Devon at 19.0, Chevron at 17.0, Mewbourne Oil at 18.7 and Diamondback Energy at 15.8.
In Permian Basin as of April 10, ExxonMobil led with 34.0 rigs followed by Occidental with 20.0, Diamondback with 15.8, ConocoPhillips with 14.2, EOG with 11.8, Coterra with 11.7, Mewbourne with 11.2, and Permian Resources and Devon with 11.0 each.
Permian Basin leads all regions in frac crews with 92 as of March 27 – up from 83 a week ago but down from 110 crews a year ago. There were 165 frac crews in U.S. compared to 154 a week ago and 223 a year ago.
Permian Basin leads with 1,856 DUC wells (drilled but uncompleted) as of March 27 compared to 1,819 a week ago and 2,345 a year ago. Across the U.S., there were 3,762 DUC wells compared to 3,626 a week ago and 4,657 a year ago.
