U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission granted permission for Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America, subsidiary of Houston-based Kinder Morgan, to build its Texas-Louisiana project in Texas. NGPL said after the FERC meeting Nov. 21 that the project will allow it to receive additional gas from existing system receipt points in the Permian, Eagle Ford and Haynesville supply areas to serve growing LNG markets.
The project is designed to provide 476,000 dekatherms per day of firm transportation service through a combination of reserved existing unsubscribed capacity on various transportation paths on NGPL’s pipeline system in addition to 300,000 Dth/d of new eastbound firm transportation service on Natural’s Louisiana line to meet growing demand in the Gulf Coast region of Texas and Louisiana.
