Houston-based Freeport LNG Development said last week it started commercial operations from Train 1 of its multi-train liquefaction facility on Quintana Island. And the company said it began producing LNG from Train 2. Zachry Group is lead for the joint ventue that also includes McDermott International. Michael Smith, Freeport founder, chairman and CEO, said commercial operations for Train 2 are expected to begin in January as construction on Train 3 continues. Train 3 is scheduled to begin commercial operations in May 2020.
