Houston-based Targa Resources said last week it commenced full operations of its $1.4 billion Grand Prix NGL pipeline from Permian Basin to Mont Belvieu. Targa reported Aug. 8 initial flows of 150,000 to 170,000 barrels per day and added, “Our expectation is for volumes to increase to approximately 200,000 barrels per day in September, then further increase over the balance of 2019.” It’s one of three NGL major new pipelines from Permian Basin. Enterprise Products’ Shin Oak NGL pipeline to Houston came online in February, and EPIC’s NGL pipeline to Corpus Christi is scheduled to be in service by early 2020. Grand Prix is also scheduled to be expanded into Oklahoma and New Mexico.
