Hurricane Beryl had minimal effects on the oil and gas industry on the U.S. Gulf Coast, according to Oil & Gas Journal.
Marathon Galveston Bay refinery advised the City of Texas City that it had to flare because of a brief power disruption during the storm, but no other issues were reported. ExxonMobil made operational adjustments in preparation for the storm and expected minimal impact to production. It did shut in production from the Hoover platform and evacuated personnel in advance of the hurricane
Chevron reported that production from its Gulf of Mexico assets remained at normal levels during the storm. The company redeployed nonessential personnel from some of its offshore platforms and followed storm preparedness procedures at its onshore sites. Shell evacuated all personnel from the offshore Perdido field and completed production shut-in. It also evacuated all personnel from the Whale field still under development and paused some of its drilling operations elsewhere in the Gulf.
