Midland-based Rattler Midstream, subsidiary of Diamondback Energy, and Oryx Midstream, portfolio company of Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, said their joint venture has agreed to acquire Reliance Gathering for $355 million. The deal is expected to close in 2019Q4. The acquired system includes more than 230 miles of gathering and regional transportation pipelines and about 200,000 barrels of crude oil storage in Andrews, Ector, Martin and Midland counties. Current system throughput is more than 110,000 barrels per day from six substantial oil and gas operators, including Diamondback. There are more than 160,000 gross acres in northern Midland Basin dedicated under long-term, fixed-fee agreements. Rattler will own 60 percent, and Oryx with 40 percent will operate the system. Oryx has focused on Delaware Basin, and this partnership gives it entry into Midland Basin.
